Ale asked for a special reward

Since she's worked really hard at improving her penmanship, she asked if she could have a special reward for bringing her grade up from a 60 to an 80... I said: depends on what you want...

what did she ask for??





A mechanical pencil!!

... total cost?? $1 (including refills)!

so, I said yes!...it is pink, of course!

    Well, she knows she's not ENTITLED to a reward, because it is her duty to make the most of the education I can afford, but, when she makes the honor roll, I usually give her a small present (less than $10, school-related: colored pencils -- a box of 36 instead of the normal 12, for example-- a book-- markers-- stuff like that)...but, this time she wanted that EXTRA one because she made an EXTRA effort!

    Your post actually made me smile and warmed my heart! Kids now a days want ipods, gameboys and other electronic gadgets. I find mechanical pencils in the hallways all the time.
