Our little fish, Ojo Rojo, died this past Saturday... we found him belly up at 5pm... Ale loved that fish.

And, to make matters even worse, Tonio is missing. NO one has seen him since Saturday pm (dinner time)... we suspect the neighbor who threatened to poison him the other time, because it's not only Tonio, but a couple other cats that are missing, too! How can someone be so heartless?? ... Tonio wouldn't miss a meal, particularly not breakfast, when he gets his milk... it's also been awfully cold (for the tropics!) and, he wouldn't miss out on a warm comfy bed with a human blanket...er... human companion.

Frown

Ale want's to pass out some flyers, I don't think it'll do any good, but, I don't want her to feel like we didn't do everything we could... Frown

Poor Ale! Our neighbor's dog was poisoned a few years ago, but fortunately survived with quick attention by the vet. And, she was in her own fenced yard. I sure hope your kitty turns up okay really soon.

Oh, I remember that wrenching feeling when a pet died or got lost...never had to deal with two so close together though! Frown Poor Ale and poor you!

Oh no!!! So sorry to hear about Tonio. Very very scary indeed. I hope he's ok, but those threats don't help at all.

I love Ojo Rojo's name! Sorry to hear he was belly up. I'm a fish lover as well.

I'm so sorry! I think the flyers are a good idea for the reason you stated. It will help Ale through the grieving process.

So sorry to hear about the pets, but don't give up on Tonio. My sweet cat, Nicolín, disappeared once for more than two weeks when he was about 5. Then one day, he came back and lived to be 18 (BTW, he was neutered, so it wasn't a case of him "catting around").

i am sorry, when i was younger a family dog went missing and it was very sad. we did door knocking, and while it didn't turn anything up, i felt like i was doing something. i think flyers are a good idea, also it might get some attention if a few cats are missing as well. atleast if it IS someone being horrible, they might realise people are onto them.

also it's very possible someone has taken him in over the cold nights to feed him! fingers crossed for you!

Thanks! A friend is going to call her brother, who knows someone who works at a very popular radio station so they can say on air that a kitty is missing and pls call the radio if anybody sees him!

Well, we handed out some fliers, left one at each of the little stores in our neighborhood, one at each of the gates (entrance/exit) and, some were delivered at certain houses (particularly those of people with pets, who might be more sympathetic). I also asked a veterinary who has an office some blocks from our house to post a flier and, to let us know if someone brings him over and, also at a nearby drugstore.
A friend who lives in the area and takes daily walks will also be on the lookout!

Awww, that is very sad. You did the right thing handing out fliers, but yeah, your little girl will need you to help her cope for the possibility that they may not come back.

There's good news and bad news....
the good news: Antonio's partner in crime, the cat across the street, is back home.
the bad news: still no Antonio!

At least, seeing the other cat gives me hope, I was afraid they had been poisoned, so, if that cat is ok, Antonio probably is, too! (I hope!)
