Red shoes

November 9th, 2006 at 08:47 pm

for some strange reason, I was thinking about red shoes this morning...more specifically, I was thinking about the beautiful red mary-janes that my next-door neighbor's, from when I was about 6... Oh, how I admired those shoes...I begged, and begged, and begged and Mom never bought me red shoes...not that she wouldn't buy me shoes...I had tons of them...clogs, mary-janes, sandals, knee-high boots in 3 different colors, tennis shoes...just...never red ones!...Mom said they "don't go with anything"...and, even now...30 years later, whenever I see red shoes, something inside me goes: ooooooooooohhhh! ... I do own a pair of red loafers...I just love them! ...I guess I was thinking that maybe someday I should buy Ale some of those deliciously frilly, silly go-with-nothing shoes that she sometimes asks for....if they are not too expensive...((sigh))

I have an acquaintance, very conservative Brooks Bros. type guy, now in his 50s, who wears red shoes for leisure. He has quite an array -- suede loafers, sneakers, walking shoes. Never have seen him in footwear of another color except when he's dressed for business.

As far as Dan is concerned, red shoes go with everything. Wink

I had a pair of those red mary janes as a child and hated them, they were really uncomfortable, so now I have an aversion to all red shoes, however every other color is fair gameSmile

I've never owned red shoes! I must have about 20 pairs of black or brown heels/boots/shoes. Recently I went crazy and bought (gasp) burgundy boots...and tan boots. Oh no! Hehe. I admire your brave fashion sense and hope you find the perfect red pair soon!

Buy yourself the red shoes and Ale a pair as well. Just save up for them! You know it is a good thing in life to do somethings we don't normally do! You know what? I once had a pair of bright red running shoes! I thought them the height of fashion! Smile

I DO think red shoes are the greatest! ....
Fairy, if you now tell me your name is Akiko and you used to live in San Salvador as a child, I will officially have a heart attack! LOL!
Paul....this is freaky! I was thinking it would be nice to find similar red shoes for both Ale and myself....I know she'd LOVE it if we both went out wearing matching shoes! LOL!

red shoes sound pretty...and everything matches with black, white and denim... i was just about to post that i don't have red shoes and the closest thing i have are these pretty burgandy embossed leather mary jane type heels... but wait... i remembered... i have red velvet shoes that go with my red vietnamese outfit... they dont' go with much else tho... i think it would be great for you to save up for something fun and frivolous for you and her...
