I'm mad!

I just got a call from a lawyer's office ref: the famous phone line that my nephew (son of my cousin) abused!! makes me SOOOO mad!...

Mainly, the reason I haven't done anything about it is that the phone company WILL reconnect as soon as I make a payment and, unless I pay in full ($1003.20), they will NOT accept my request for any changes in the account (like restriction of international calls), which means, as soon as I make any payments, the line will be up and fully operational for him to make any phone calls he pleases! (she works all day long, so he'd have at least 6 hours a day of unrestricted access!)...

This REALLY sucks! Frown

    Did you contact the parents to see if they'll pay anything?

    My cousin is a single sister and I are her only close relatives... she's willing to pay, but, is self-employed and is not even making enough to meet her house payments right now...she even defaulted on his school tuition for 2 months! (business has been slow), right now, there doesn't seem to be a solution in sight...unless she manages to actually sell some properties she's been showing (she does real estate, among other things) Frown

    Is it possible that once the line is back working that no phone be associated with it? Can you lock up the phone or something?

    not really....the phone company will not allow me to make ANY changes until the stupid bill is paid in full....even if we removed/locked the phone, there's nothing preventing him from getting another one (or borrowing one) and plugging it in to talk.... Frown
