breathe in, breathe out....breathe in, breathe out...

August 8th, 2005 at 09:25 pm

OK, so I've been going over my numbers again and, while I WILL be in a tight financial situation, it is not going to be as awful as I thought...Yes, the sale of the apt will only take care of about a1/4 of the total debt, but, the $750 a month for the next 5 months will take care of another big chunk, add to that my Xmas bonus and vacation $$ + my income tax return (if it ever arrives!) and I'll have the debt down to about 1/2 of its present size...now, if you take into account that the current debt is made up of several small (yeah, right!) debts, and that, obviously, some of those will be paid in full with the sale money and the Xmas bonus, well....I think I might just make it...it won't be easy, and it won't be pretty, but, I KNOW I can make it...Now, if I can get myself from panicking, maybe I can keep myself from drowning (financially!)....

Keep it up. You've been through a lot, but things are going to work out. Try some selling tricks with the apartment if you have any control. Try www.bankrate.com and search for "selling house" or something like that. They have great ideas for getting property off the market quickly. If the apartment is empty, you could still make sure the windows are clean inside and out, patch up any dings in the walls, doors, etc. and you could place a hanging plant or something "cozy" as a temporary design element. Maybe placing a "welcome" mat that's in good condition outside the door would help. I know you don't need one more thing on your plate to do, but if you can spruce up the apartment enough to sell it, that's one less thing to worry about. Smile

    Thanks, Jorge...
we did repaint the whole apt and fixed a couple of things...we make sure it gets cleaned once a month...the last time I was there, though, I noticed that the closet doors need some grease (they are squeacking!) and made a note to get some and bring it over to fix that...
