Ale recently wondered how children who don't have a father living in the house can get a present for Mom without asking her for the $$$ (as that would be both tacky and unfair!).... I told her they don't necessarily have to BUY a present...her eyes lit up!
So, today I have to provide her with: wrapping paper, glue, markers and some yarn from our homework box.... I'm not allowed to know what it is for...other than it is for my Mother's day present! (I'm also supposed to be confined to my room while she works!)
Isn't that sweet?

I always have to work Mother's Day, which isn't really a big deal to me, but it amazes me that people seem to really think it's horrible for me to be there. On more than one occasion, I have had a table leave a very good tip to "repay" me for having to be at work on Mother's Day. It's all a little silly to me, but maybe I'll feel differently when Juliette is older and can actually unerstand what Mother's Day is.

she actually made me help her make the box and a bag (made out of gift paper) to put it...then decorated the bag....then showed it to me and said (in English, so I'm quoting her word for word): "this is the gift! But it's not time yet. Today is the 28, and Mother's day is not this month!" - paying for a bilingual school was definetely a great idea!
