The sad thing about fixing your spreadsheet is...

November 14th, 2006 at 11:50 pm

you get to find out what you left out and get a very good idea of why you are in such bad shape financially!....
I mean, it's good, it's an eyeopener, but...this year I had my "plan" spreadsheet to control my debt and my "expenses" spreadsheet to track variable expenses....next year I'll have a "budget" file where these two come together....and adding the fixed expenses as well....OUCH!...2007 is starting to look scary!!!

I have a lot of fun using Excel to map out my finances, not only from the picture it gives me of where I stand, but also learning more about how Excel works.

Homein: me, too! I didn't know how to work anything in Excel. Hubby is tutor.
MI: My numbers were scary, too, at first. But now I enjoy trying to get those numbers to behave!

it's like spinach, it's good for you!! personally, i happen to love spinach so maybe i'm just weird all over! seriously, though, even basic excel skills will help you if you ever have to jump back into the job market.
